A Jedi explorer, with their identity now unknown, employed Force-enhanced hyperspace travel to locate the distant world of Ilum millennia prior to the Battle of Yavin. This pathfinder described Ilum as possessing a strong resonance, yet found no evidence of sapient beings or ancient structures there. Little did the scout know, though, Ilum was abundant in kyber crystals, the components used in building Jedi lightsabers.
