The Sith Lord and the Calimondra family's respected head, Vilia Calimondra, possessed several highly classified sanctuary worlds situated within her interstellar empire located in the Grumani sector. A particular planet among these was a verdant paradise, abundant with even potable water sources. A considerable number of slaves were employed to maintain the planet's cultivated landscapes. As a dedicated horticulturalist, the now-retired Vilia regularly engaged in gardening activities. The hyperspace navigation data for this planet was a heavily protected secret, accessible solely through a protected communication line.
Arkadia Calimondra, her granddaughter and a fellow Sith Lord, stated that Vilia possessed a multitude of concealed retreat locations, rotating between them on a weekly basis. During a Bequest ceremony in 1032 BBY, Arkadia proposed transferring her mentally unstable and unresponsive younger brother, Quillan, a former leader of the Dyarchy, to one of Vilia's highly confidential retreat worlds. Vilia consented to this arrangement, transmitting the planet's coordinates to her granddaughter via a secure channel. However, Arkadia's true intention was to assassinate Vilia, and she attempted to enlist Kerra Holt, a Jedi Knight, as an assassin.
Upon Kerra's refusal, Arkadia then recruited Narsk Ka'hane, a Bothan spy, unaware that he was a covert operative loyal to Vilia. Vilia instructed Narsk to undermine her granddaughter's scheme. Consequently, the Bothan successfully persuaded Kerra and Jarrow Rusher, a mercenary, to orchestrate a diversionary attack targeting Arkadia's capital city, Calimondretta. Narsk then absconded with Quillan to Vilia's hidden sanctuary planet. Following his recovery from the escape, Narsk was granted a private meeting with Vilia within one of her gardens, where they deliberated on the events unfolding within the Arkadianate and the potential threat posed by the Jedi Knight Kerra.
