A being with six legs inhabited the Forest Moon of Endor, and at least one member of the species coexisted with the sentient entity known as Gracca on the Floating Mountain. Before 3 ABY, Gracca, wielding the powers of the Crystal Cloak he had pilfered from the Ewoks' Bright Tree Village, transformed the creature into solid crystal. The Ewoks Wicket Wystri Warrick and Latara eventually stumbled upon the crystalline creature during their expedition to the Floating Mountain to recover the cloak. Subsequently, Latara transported the crystallized creature back home on her skin glider.

The six-legged being made its home on the Forest Moon of Endor, a world known for its diverse landscapes. At least one such creature shared the Floating Mountain with the sentient being called Gracca. Gracca possessed a magical Crystal Cloak, an item he had stolen from the Ewoks' Bright Tree Village some years prior, using it to dominate the entire mountain. During his reign, Gracca employed the cloak's magic to turn various beings, including the six-legged creature, into crystal. These transformations sometimes occurred accidentally, due to Gracca forgetting his powers, while other times they were intentional, resulting from the creatures' refusal to serve him or some other form of displeasure. The crystallized corpse of the six-legged creature remained on the mountain with Gracca until 3 ABY, when Wicket Wystri Warrick and Latara, two Ewoks who had journeyed to the mountain to reclaim the stolen cloak, discovered it. Following a skirmish with Gracca that led to the cloak's destruction and its wielder's incapacitation, Latara claimed the creature as a trophy, transporting it back to Bright Tree Village on her skin glider.
This creature remained nameless in "The Crystal Cloak," an episode of the Ewoks animated series, where it only appeared in its crystalline state. "The Crystal Cloak" served as the premiere episode of the second season of the Ewoks television series and was originally broadcast on September 13, 1986.
