A Super Star Destroyer, linked to the Imperial Remnant, was stationed at Bastion, the capital planet of the Empire, in 28 ABY during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Alongside an Imperial Star Destroyers squadron, the Super Star Destroyer maintained a patrol in space over Bastion, projecting an image of Imperial power when New Republic envoys Leia Organa Solo and Han Solo arrived for a diplomatic endeavor. Instead of landing directly on the planet, the New Republic representatives were first brought aboard the Super Star Destroyer. From there, they were escorted to a luxurious Lambda-class shuttle, which transported them to the planet's surface.
The Super Star Destroyer of the Imperial Remnant made a short, unnamed appearance in Walter Jon Williams's 2002 novel, Destiny's Way, part of The New Jedi Order series. Within Destiny's Way, the vessel is described as an eight-kilometer Super Star Destroyer, a size that, at the time of the book's release, applied only to what would later become known in Star Wars canon as the Executor-class Star Dreadnought. Star Wars Legends later used retconned to change the Executor-class's length from eight to nineteen kilometers. It also established "Super Star Destroyer" as common in-universe terminology for several large Star Destroyer classes. Considering the story's implied intention, this article interprets this Super Star Destroyer as an Executor-class ship.
