A librarian worked at a library inside the Theed Royal Palace located on Naboo during the Galactic Civil War, which was after the Battle of Yavin. During one time when a spacer paid a visit to the library, the librarian suggested a trivia game, and the spacer agreed without hesitation. The librarian then proceeded to quiz the spacer with a series of challenging questions, including what single center of mass Talus and Tralus both orbit, and who was responsible for establishing the Brotherhood of the Sith, along with numerous other inquiries. The spacer provided correct answers to each question. The librarian, greatly impressed, commended the spacer's extensive knowledge of the galaxy and awarded them a badge. The librarian then invited the spacer to return in the future, mentioning the possibility of having new questions ready.
The "trivial librarian" character, as they were often called by players, appeared in the massively-multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided released in 2003. The librarian was incorporated into the game through the "Publish 6" update, which was released on February 11, 2004. Similar to many non-playable characters in the game, the librarian's species and gender were randomized each time the game servers were restarted.
