Unidentified tree-dwelling creature

A being that resided in the trees existed on the Forest Moon of Endor. It possessed green eyes featuring black pupils, and a multitude of white teeth. During 3 ABY, two Duloks belonging to King Gorneesh's tribe encountered this creature within a tree after their attempt to abduct the Ewok named Latara failed.

Biology and appearance

This creature, an inhabitant of trees, was characterized by its blinking green eyes with vertical black pupils, notably larger than those of a Dulok. Furthermore, it was equipped with numerous pointed, white teeth.

History

This creature established its habitat inside a hollow tree found on the Forest Moon of Endor. In the year 3 ABY, two Duloks originating from King Gorneesh's tribe—distinguished by a yellow X and O painted on their respective chests—were dispatched to Bright Tree Village. Their mission was to seize the Ewok Latara for employment as a babysitter within the Dulok Swamp. However, their endeavor was thwarted by the arrival of the Travelling Jindas, a troupe of performers who had journeyed to the village to entertain the Ewoks. The Duloks, intimidated by the imposing size of the awors, the Jindas' pack animals, sought refuge at the base of a hollow tree. The resident creature detected their presence, opened its green eyes, and stared intensely at the Duloks. In the dimness, the Dulok identified by the X discerned two pairs of eyes and nothing else, leading him to mistakenly address his companion as "four-eyes" before the creature displayed its sharp teeth and emitted a growl. A brief struggle ensued, allowing the two Duloks to successfully flee from the tree.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of the tree-dwelling creature occurred in "The Travelling Jindas," which was the fifth episode of the first season of the Ewoks animated series. "The Travelling Jindas," authored by Bob Carrau and directed by Raymond Jafelice, was initially broadcast on October 5, 1986.
