Their history included a long-standing dispute with the nomadic Alwari tribes, stretching back millennia. Although a truce had been reached circa 222 BBY, the Commerce Guild's support of the Unity during the Separatist Crisis, as it weighed the possibility of leaving the Republic, almost shattered this fragile peace.
Senator Mousul of Ansion maintained allegiance to the Unity, which was governed by the Unity Council. During 22 BBY, a Jedi delegation, acting on behalf of both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic, intervened to resolve the ancient territorial conflict. They successfully negotiated a fair settlement between the Unity's urban population and the Alwari nomads residing on Ansion's plains. This achievement allowed the planet to withstand the significant pressures from the Commerce Guild to secede from the Republic. In the end, the Unity decided against secession through a formal vote.
