An unnamed Star Wars movie, which was to heavily showcase Tatooine, was supposedly being created as one of the stand-alone offshoots from the main Star Wars series, in a similar vein to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story from 2016 and Solo: A Star Wars Story from 2018. On August 15, 2018, Neil Lamont, who worked as an art director and designer, stated that Disney was developing an Anthology film centered on the world of Tatooine. Nevertheless, MovieWeb announced the following day that the project had been scrapped.
