Talk: Phant0mMenace21
Greetings, Phant0mMenace21!
Salutations, everyone!
This is my digital bulletin board, so feel free to send me messages at any hour (except when I'm asleep at night!). I'm also happy to assist others with any technical problems they might have. :)
Modification
Hello there, and thanks for contacting me!
Regarding the creation of new content pages, which we call articles here, I have a few suggestions to share. To begin, the simplest method for understanding how an article should be formatted is to examine similar articles that already exist. Do you want to write an article about a planet? Take a look at this example. How about a character? Check this out. And so on. Here's the primary category for all of our in-universe articles, which you can browse until you locate the specific category you're interested in. Pay attention to the structure of these articles, and examine their underlying code, which you can copy and paste as needed.
Another helpful resource is our Layout Guide (also linked in the welcome template above). It outlines the required layout for several article categories, including characters, species, planets, and more. Keep in mind that there's also a corresponding layout guide for out-of-universe, or real-world, articles.
P.S. Remember to always sign your comments on discussion pages by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message.
I hope this is helpful, Imperators II(Talk) 12:35, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Always remember to sign your comments on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of the comment. Imperators II (Talk) 14:18, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- You can create a section heading by typing ==Section header== , for instance, ==History== . To create subsections, simply use more "=" symbols. ===First history subsection== etc. Imperators II (Talk) 14:20, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Gratitude
Thanks for the advice, Imperator II! ~~Phant0mMenace21~~
- No, simply input four tildes together at the very end of your comment, and it will automatically generate your signature and timestamp. Imperators II (Talk) 19:03, 28 January 2021 (UTC) That's just a template that automatically shows your name when you visit the page. Imperators II(Talk) 10:54, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
The Sith Eternal Fleet
Hello there. Please be aware that the Final Order article already addresses the Sith Eternal fleet, and the latter is a redirect to the Final Order article. Therefore, a separate Sith Eternal Fleet article is unnecessary. I suggest redirecting your new page to Final Order and transferring your content from the fleet page to the Final Order article. - - -OOM 224 ༼༽༼༽ 11:45, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Response
Greetings! I believe a major revision of the page is necessary, as it directly copies several sections verbatim from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary which is plagiarism. I'm sure this was unintentional, but it needs to be corrected. Also, remember to cite your edits with an attributable source. Please let me know if you have any questions! --Lewisr (talk) 14:15, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Great, thank you for saying you will change it! -- Lewisr ( talk ) 14:20, 29 January 2021 (UTC) The opening paragraph still needs to be rewritten to avoid plagiarism, and the other paragraphs as well. I removed the trooper information because it's not highly relevant to the fleet, was largely copied from the book, and is more appropriate for the Sith Eternal army page --Lewisr (talk) 15:06, 29 January 2021 (UTC) The page now exists at Final Order fleet, and yours has been redirected to that one, so you don't need to worry about it being deleted. You're welcome to help expand the new page if you want --Lewisr (talk) 14:29, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Warning
Please refrain from adding meaningless content to Wookieepedia. This is considered vandalism. If you wish to experiment, please use the Jundland Wastes sandbox. Thank you. Tommy-Macaroni 14:15, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Redirected
If you intend to spend four hours on a task, I suggest considering its appropriateness before proceeding. An article for Sith Eternal army already exists, making Sith Eternal Army completely unnecessary. Regarding your question, the edit history of your work is still available here because I redirected the page instead of deleting it. - - -OOM 224 ༼༽༼༽ 14:02, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Plagiarism and Pre-existing Pages
Hi Jack-- please review the policy concerning sourcing, and then follow the link to the Wikipedia article on plagiarism. Directly copying passages from another source without proper citation constitutes plagiarism. In the ARC-170 fighter article, you included significant portions that directly matched copyrighted material. All sources must be referenced, and the content should not be verbatim copies. Furthermore, we already have a Canon and a Legends article on the topic of that ship, so creating a new page is not needed. Please ensure you check whether a page already exists for a given subject before creating a new one. Immora (talk) 11:27, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi again, I received your message, so I'm replying here to ensure you receive a notification. For citations, consult the tutorial (it's for Source Editor, not Visual). I suggest practicing in your workbench to become familiar with it, and observing how other pages handle citations. I'm going to be direct about this: you stated that "only one paragraph is copied," but that still constitutes plagiarism. Once I identify copied content, it's difficult not to assume the rest is as well, especially when no source is attributed. This isn't just a lesson for Wookieepedia, so please be more careful. Immora ( talk ) 11:50, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Warning
Thank you for your contributions to Wookieepedia! Please be aware that at least one of your recent edits added unverified information to a mainspace article. According to our sourcing policy, all additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable using a reliable source, and unverified information is subject to reversion or deletion. Continuing to add unverified information may result in an administrator blocking you from editing. Thank you. Tommy-Macaroni 11:33, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not going to block you right now, but that remains a possibility if you don't take greater care with your edits. Your addition to Elite AT-AT changed words to an incorrect spelling, added redirects, was unsourced, removed the imagecat, did not follow the Layout Guide , and contained poor grammar (including incorrect tense). Please put more effort into your edits, or you may be blocked for disruptive behavior. Thank you for your cooperation. Tommy-Macaroni 11:41, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Death Star II history
I have no idea what Death Star II history is, but it doesn't belong in the main namespace. All of this can be included here. I'm giving you the opportunity to move it to a subpage before I delete it. Tommy-Macaroni 14:34, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- I gave you a chance, but that article has no place on this site. If you continue to create articles without sources and that violate our policies, you will be blocked. If you need time to gather sources, use a subpage. Do not simply create an unsourced page with banners asking people not to delete it. If you're having to ask people not to delete your article, then chances are it probably should be. Tommy-Macaroni 14:48, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
