The heavy laser cannons were affixed to a sizable semicircular rail, enabling a restricted range of horizontal movement for aiming purposes.
These emplacements appeared to be integrated within the trench system of the outpost, incorporating viewports that allowed soldiers to engage targets or gather visual information for aiming, similar to a pillbox bunker. The V-120 saw action against the First Order during the attack on Crait, offering supporting fire for the Resistance's efforts to counterattack against the First Order. Despite their precision and reach, they did not possess the necessary destructive power to inflict substantial damage or impede the advance of the attacking walkers. Ultimately, they were eliminated following repeated strafing runs by TIEs targeting the outpost's defensive perimeter.
