As captain of the Imperial Nebulon-B escort frigate known as the Revenant, Valek was in command when the Communications Research Station Epsilon Nine in the Cron Drift was attacked in 4 ABY. Despite his position as vessel commander, Valek was subordinate to Lumiya, who acted on behalf of Imperial Intelligence. Lumiya's fleet included the Revenant, but was not limited to it. Valek promptly obeyed any commands issued by Lumiya.
