The Valsedian asteroid belt, situated far within Hutt Space, was an asteroid belt abundant in ore.
During the era of the Clone Wars, a clandestine base, property of the Hutt Cartel, was located in the Valsedian asteroid belt. This facility functioned as a mining operation, where Ugnaught laborers refined ore sourced from the asteroids scattered throughout the belt. Count Dooku employed a security detail to protect the base, granting them complete access to all resources, including a wine cellar stocked with Ugnaught wine.
During the Clone Wars period, suspicion arose that Torpo the Hutt had illicitly sold the Valsedian asteroid belt to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, violating the terms of an existing treaty between the Hutts and the Galactic Republic. Consequently, the Jedi Order initiated a mission to thoroughly investigate these allegations.
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance established a stronghold within the Valsedian asteroid belt. This base was subsequently decimated by forces of the Galactic Empire. As recognition for this achievement, Admiral Gaen Drommel was later awarded command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought known as the Guardian.
