Verkuylian BactaCo, situated on the world of Verkuyl, thrived as a producer of bacta. Corlin Quarle Deld, a business magnate, established the company, achieving its prosperity through the employment of indentured servants. The arrival of the Empire on Verkuyl led to the nationalization of this thriving enterprise. Deld deliberately destroyed all records, including the contracts binding the laborers, in an attempt to sabotage Imperial operations by concealing the existence of these agreements. Despite this, the Empire compelled the liberated workforce to persist in their labor, now under Imperial control. While the bacta laborers received enhanced compensation, they endured extended work hours and diminished leisure time.
Following the establishment of the New Republic, Imperial troops were vanquished and expelled from Verkuyl. The New Republic subsequently emancipated the bacta workers from their compulsory servitude.
