Despite the common belief that the Verpine designed it, the device was fundamentally just an enhanced version of the Arkanian shield. Functionally similar to its Arkanian counterpart, the Verpine shield offered protection to the user against intense temperatures, as well as weapons that utilized sonic or energy-based attacks.
