Victor Strang, formerly a storm commando, later achieved the rank of admiral within the Imperial Navy. Following the Battle of Yavin, he assumed command of the Conqueror, a Star Destroyer armed with a powerful superlaser.
Prior to the events of the Battle of Yavin, Strang led a specialized unit of storm commandos, considered elite soldiers within the Empire's Stormtrooper Corps. As the war progressed, he received a promotion to admiral and was given leadership of the Conqueror, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer that featured a superlaser. In 1 ABY, while in the Mustafar system, the Rebel Alliance's Renegade Squadron, under the command of Col Serra, infiltrated the Conqueror. The Renegades overcame Strang and his storm commandos, subsequently planting thermal detonators on the ship's reactor core. These detonators were activated, resulting in the vessel's destruction. However, before the explosion, an X4 Gunship managed to escape the Conqueror, leading one of the Renegades to speculate that Strang may have been aboard.
