Viral bomb

The virus bomb, also known as a viral bomb, was designed and deployed by Dr. Nuvo Vindi with the purpose of reintroducing his altered version of the Blue Shadow Virus into the broader galactic population.

Description

A chamber filled with armed virus bombs

These bombs, easily transportable due to their spherical design, were colored gray and contained the Blue Shadow Virus in specialized canisters. When activated, a red light ring appeared, and each bomb featured an opening specifically for inserting the virus canisters.

History

Vindi produced a large quantity of these bombs with the intention of disseminating his highly contagious version of the Blue Shadow Virus throughout the galaxy. Upon discovery of his scheme, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka spearheaded a raid targeting his laboratory. Following Vindi's failed escape attempt, he remotely triggered the bombs, aiming to unleash the deadly pathogen. Fortunately, clone ordnance specialists, functioning as bomb disposal experts, successfully neutralized all the bombs before they could detonate.

Subsequently, Padmé and the Bomb squad discovered that a virus-containing canister was missing from one of the bombs. Vindi's droid servant, LEP-86C8, who had acquired the missing canister, secretly re-entered the bomb room and reinserted the canister into a bomb. Before clone troopers could intervene, the droid detonated the bomb, releasing the virus into the lab environment, consequently infecting Ahsoka, Rex, the clone troopers, and later Padmé. Anakin and Obi-Wan were able to locate a cure for the virus, specifically a Reeksa root found on Iego, in time to save them.

Behind the scenes

In the episode titled The Frozen Citadel, similar virus bombs were present, containing the lethal Rooze Disease.
