The Wennis functioned as a cruiser for the Galactic Republic and subsequently for the Imperial forces.
This trowel-shaped ship, the Wennis, was typically classified as a cruiser, yet it also bore the labels "Imperial Cruiser" and battle cruiser. Featuring a "dead black" outer layer, it could readily carry 24 starfighters and possessed incredibly powerful "hell projectors" capable of destroying continents.
The construction of the Wennis took place around 78 BBY, and its service ended sometime after the establishment of the Galactic Empire. Early in his rule, Galactic Emperor Palpatine presented the vessel to Rokur Gepta, whom he had recently appointed as Scrivinir of the Centrality, a state that was essentially a Galactic Empire puppet regime.
Serving as the flagship of the Centrality, its personnel did not display military insignia, a measure taken to uphold "certain political fictions." This was due to the crew's composition, which consisted of both Centran and Imperial members.
During the Battle of ThonBoka, the Wennis met its end, with all hands lost, at the hands of Klyn Shanga and his Renatasians.
