Westport, a spaceport situated on Coruscant, was located in proximity to Kishi, positioned somewhat southwest of the renowned Jedi Temple.
The construction of Westport commenced in the year 25 BBY, with its official opening occurring in 24 BBY. In the period leading up to the Clone Wars, the spaceport experienced a dramatic surge in outbound traffic, witnessing a 6,000% rise in departures from the planet due to the escalating Separatist Crisis. Several years later, following Ando's secession from the Republic by only a few hours, 500 Aqualish residing on Coruscant secured passage departing from Westport.
Subsequent to the Yuuzhan Vong War, Westport underwent reconstruction, including the installation of novel landing platforms specifically designed to accommodate escort carriers. During 40 ABY, the Second Galactic Civil War precipitated an increase in arrivals at the spaceport from Corellia to Coruscant, a consequence of the impending full-scale conflict.
Among the known spaceports that existed on Coruscant, Westport proved to be the most enduringly successful. Newport ceased operations, while Eastport suffered destruction at the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong and was never rebuilt.
