Witches' Orbs were spherical objects designed to be placed either upon a dedicated stand or directly on top of Orb Torches. Talzin, the Mother, possessed a particular orb that she employed to perceive future events. Subsequently, Maul gained ownership of one of these orbs. Certain orbs were situated within the forests of Dathomir surrounding the Nightsisters' dwelling.
The initial appearance of the orb occurred in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode titled "Monster." The designation "Witches' Orb" was initially used within the episode guide for "Massacre" found on StarWars.com.
