XT-8
XT-8 was a repurposed XT labor droid, modified for the deadly role of an assassin droid. Its exterior was a drab green, and its photoreceptors emitted a sinister red glow. The droid also possessed a vocabulator that generated a garbled, buzzing sound. Despite the XT model representing advanced technology from around 20,000 BBY, XT-8's personality programming was rudimentary, even by assassin droid standards, at the time of the Galactic Civil War. In combat situations, a panel on XT-8's chest would open, revealing a submachine gun capable of firing across a 180-degree arc in front of it.
XT-8 served as a member of the bounty hunter crew led by Leshy Drobo, assisting in the capture of Roni von Wasaki. While Drobo and Gammid created a diversion, XT-8 quietly moved behind Wasaki and incapacitated him with a stun blast. After Drobo had placed Wasaki, encased in carbonite, aboard the Starkiller, XT-8 received the task of piloting the vessel to collect the bounty. However, Wasaki used the Force to influence Drobo into releasing him. Discovering this betrayal, XT-8 confronted Drobo in the engine room, opening fire and killing him, while simultaneously damaging the hyperdrive. As a result, the ship reverted to realspace, turning a 30-day hyperspace journey into one lasting over 20,000 years. Throughout this extended period, XT-8 remained focused solely on delivering its cargo.
At some point during the Galactic Civil War, a ship carrying a group of Rebels, including a Force-sensitive individual, emerged from hyperspace near the Starkiller. When the Rebels attempted to dock, XT-8 opened fire. However, due to the vast technological disparity between the ships, separated by over 20,000 years of development, the Starkiller was easily overcome. The Rebels then boarded the ship, and upon entering the cockpit, were met with XT-8's gunfire. The Rebels swiftly neutralized the droid, effectively ending its long-standing mission.
