Yagaran Four

The Yagaran Four were a group of bounty hunters operating out of the Yagara system located in the Mid Rim. The starship drive technician known as "Maniac" was employed by them; he implemented a hazardous modification to the hyperdrive of their YT-1300 light freighter. Subsequently, while pursuing a bounty target above the astronomical body Elin Roe, the Yagaran Four engaged the hyperdrive, leading to the craft's catastrophic destruction and the deaths of all team members.

Description

Hailing from the Hadar sector within the Mid Rim, the Yagaran Four were a bounty hunting team based in the Yagara system. They utilized a heavily armed YT-1300 light freighter and retained the services of a Krish mechanic called "Maniac," who specialized in starship engine systems. The Yagaran Four commissioned Maniac to enhance the hyperdrive of their light freighter, and he performed a modification that proved to be quite perilous.

History

Sometime shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the Yagaran Four were in pursuit of a target with a bounty on their head. During this pursuit, which took place near the Colonies world Elin Roe, the team activated the freighter's hyperdrive. This action resulted in the starship's immediate explosion. The hunters were killed instantly, and a cloud of radioactive dust then enveloped Elin Roe's fifth moon. Maniac, however, survived the team's demise. Later, in a personal note added to a datafile entry about the Krish that detailed various Rebel Alliance operatives, Alliance General Airen Cracken remarked that the Yagaran Four's demise was not surprising, considering Maniac's notoriously reckless nature.

Behind the scenes

Peter Schweighofer conceived the Yagaran Four, and they first appeared in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook intended for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
