The Yavin Vassilika, a legendary and invaluable statuette resembling a gem, was considered by many to be simply a myth. Ultimately, it became the target of a group comprising both mercenaries and bounty hunters. These individuals were employed by a trio of Hutts: Jabba Desilijic Tiure, Malta, and [Embra]. Their motivation was solely to use the statuette as a prize in their own personal competition.
The pursuit involved figures such as Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Bossk, Dengar, IG-88B, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Greedo, Garindan, Sardu Sallowe and Boba Fett. Eventually, the Vassilika was located beyond the galactic rim and seized by Jozzel Moffet, an associate of Malta. Unbeknownst to him, Moffet was acting on behalf of the Rebel Alliance and Bria Tharen, Han's former lover. The hunters tracked the Vassilika to Jan Dodonna, only to witness him shatter it upon the ground. This act revealed that the Vassilika contained a key, crucial to accessing one of the strategically significant Massassi Temples situated on Yavin 4.
Reportedly, the Yavin Vassilika was a statue decorated with various Massassi glyphs. It was carved from a single Corusca gem, which Malta declared to be the "hardest substance in the galaxy." Jozzel Moffet considered the artifact to be a mere paperweight.
