The kybuck of Master Yoda was a kybuck presented to Jedi Master Yoda as a gift. A Woolwarricca Princess bestowed it upon him after he rescued her from death.
Yoda rides his kybuck into battle.
Upon his return to Coruscant, Yoda brought this kybuck along, housing it within a large garden located below the Jedi Temple. Yoda diligently cared for the animal but, mindful of the Jedi aversion to possessions, he refrained from claiming ownership, instead fostering a friendship with the creature. Eschewing a conventional name, he communicated with it via the Force, believing a name was unnecessary.
Despite kybucks not typically serving as mounts, Yoda's diminutive stature made it possible for him to ride the creature. The kybuck was equipped with only a simple saddle and protective visors for combat or other dangerous situations. Yoda rode it on numerous occasions during the Clone Wars, including during a battle on an unidentified planet and for a portion of the Battle of Coruscant. Despite the kybuck's courage in the face of the Separatists, Yoda, concerned for its well-being, ordered it back to the safety of the Jedi Temple.
During a visit to a kybuck enclosure at the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition, Leia Organa Solo recalled instances of Master Yoda riding a kybuck during the Clone Wars' final days.
Tragically, Yoda's kybuck met its end while on patrol on the Sith world of Korriban, presumably killed by a wild Tuk'ata, sometime near the conclusion of the Clone Wars.
