"Lando Calrissian as a Young Man" is a comic book story featured in the publication known as Star Wars Tales issue 20.
Lando Calrissian, along with his companion Flek, land on the planet Meek. Their scheme involves pretending to be a Jedi Knight in order to claim a reward, which consists of ancient artifacts, for supposedly killing a wandering Rancor that had been menacing a Meek settlement. Lando's plan was to use a Rancor tooth he possessed to lie low for a period, then present the tooth later, making it seem as if he had recently defeated the creature. However, the actual Rancor is discovered. As they try to escape, Flek cleverly fools the Rancor by playing a recording of its own roar, leading it to believe there are more creatures in the water, and then tossing the tooth into the sea. The Rancor then swims off, and the pair understand they have accidentally freed Meek from the Rancor's threat.
Returning to the village, the Meek shower Lando and Flek with admiration, bestowing upon them the promised relics. Lando and Flek depart to have the artifacts appraised, only to find that they are worthless forgeries. Flek expects his boss to be enraged, but Lando just starts laughing, commenting that the Meek were kindred spirits and praising them for successfully deceiving him.
