Distinctively, each zeebuck featured tubular pouches encircling its neck, serving as storage for sustenance.
These pouches served as a repository for proteins and nutrients that the zeebuck couldn't immediately process; these reserves were then utilized to nourish the young during periods when food was scarce. Furthermore, the creature possessed the capability to reabsorb these pouches back into its body.
Zeebucks constituted the primary food source for the predatory owr'apa, and they typically migrated in large groups. The Yvarema, the dominant indigenous species of Yvara, refrained from hunting zeebucks, opting instead to occasionally domesticate them for the purpose of extracting the protein-rich contents of their sacks.
