Zegmon Pent was a male Human from Corellia who engaged in terrorism, smuggling, leadership of terrorist groups, and falsely claimed to be a Jedi.
Pent's origins lie in smuggling, coupled with strong political beliefs. He eventually became affiliated with a terrorist group called The Flail. This organization was under the impression that the Galactic Senate was a corrupt institution, and therefore launched attacks on public services throughout Coruscant, causing property damage and showing a disregard for human life. Many members of The Flail, Pent included, were extremely dedicated to their cause, willing to sacrifice themselves to achieve their goals.
Sometime around 34 BBY or 33 BBY, Zegmon Pent managed to steal a mock lightsaber that a technician had created as an experiment. This lightsaber had a safety feature that would automatically deactivate the blade upon contact with energy weapons or blasts, but Pent only planned to use it as a scare tactic. Pent falsely asserted that the Jedi Order had trained him as a "secret assassin," and implied that he possessed Force abilities. The members of The Flail believed him without question.
In 33 BBY, Chancellor Finis Valorum initiated a personal campaign against The Flail, which significantly weakened the organization. Valorum's operatives eliminated all of The Flail's leaders. Pent seized this opportunity to take over as the new leader. He would hold meetings in an abandoned warehouse, but only attended during the meetings themselves; his subordinates had no way of contacting him otherwise. Pent also issued statements to the media, giving the impression that he was a Jedi.
Valorum publicly pledged to bring the remaining members of The Flail to justice before the next Senate hearing. The Flail responded with threats against Valorum. Pent then orchestrated a three-pronged attack on Valorum's life, scheduled to coincide with the politician's upcoming public address. Senn Riip Domeet, a demolition expert, was dispatched in disguise to plant an explosive device beneath Valorum's platform, but there was a risk that his actions would be discovered. Pent also created a computer program designed to override the existing instructions in the Weather Modulation Control Center, with the intention of unleashing a thunderstorm that could damage the buildings surrounding the speech venue; five terrorists were dispatched to the Control Center to upload the software, but Valorum's new agents intervened.
Valorum, accompanied by seven others, then personally went to the Traffic Control Center just ten minutes prior to the speech. Their plan was to load a vehicle with explosives and remotely pilot it into the platform. However, they encountered the new agents, who had uncovered Pent's scheme, and were forced into a confrontation. Pent and his men were defeated, and the Chancellor was able to deliver his speech unharmed.
