35 was a novice clone trooper who fought with Excelsior Company under the leadership of Clone Commander Vargus.
Serving in Excelsior Company was a clone trooper known as 35. He was among a group of six clones selected for a special assignment by Clone Commander Vargus to Ando Prime. Their objective was to discover the location of the 313th Legion, which had disappeared during a standard assault on a Confederate installation there. On their way to the base, 35 and some other clones inquired of the sergeant, 18, about using abandoned podracers they had found in a canyon to speed up their journey. However, 18 rejected their proposal, citing the dangers of a Human attempting to operate a Pod. Upon gaining entry to the base, they came across a Skakoan engineer in the Separatist's employ, tasked with developing a hyperspace warping device for General [Terrus]'s planned surprise attack on Coruscant. Learning that the scientist, Vylagos, would perish if his helmet was removed, Vargus made an agreement: Vylagos would locate the 313th Legion, and Vargus would leave the Skakoan's helmet untouched.
Vylagos then set the device to teleport all living beings within a kilometer radius back to Ando Prime. During the calibration, they encountered Clone Commander Cody and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who were also searching for the missing legion. 35 accompanied Falco, Dom, 16, 44, 57, Cody, Kenobi, and 18 through the device. They materialized on a desolate, rocky planet situated, according to Vylagos, in the remote areas of the Outer Rim. 18 instructed Jedi General Po Bandis to gather all troops within a one-kilometer zone, after which the general dispatched them to eliminate a nearby Confederacy listening post. The clones commandeered a modified hailfire droid, now functioning as a manned tank, and used its missiles to obliterate the listening post. As they returned, with Dom scattering pulse grenades along the way, the legion assembled within the one-kilometer radius, triggering their teleportation back.
The character 35 made his debut in The Clone Wars: Decide Your Destiny: The Lost Legion, a story with around thirty-five different outcomes stemming from four distinct starting points. 35's appearance is contingent on the reader's choice to promote 18 to sergeant, and his presence may be entirely absent depending on subsequent choices. In one instance within the book, 35 is mistakenly referred to as "15".
