Findris was home to several underground groups resisting the Galactic Empire, of which the terrorist organization known as the Justice Action Network, which was founded on the celestial body in 15 BBY, was the most violent one. News reports issued by Colonial News Nets on the 1 ABY dates 36:5:23 and 36:10:5 both mentioned Findris while providing background for the Justice Action Network.

By the time that shortly followed the Battle of Yavin, the Human Pertaal Shenvehr worked as an assistant features editor at the Colonial News Nets offices. His friend, who was employed at Findris's Imperial sector command, passed tactical information concerning the Empire's military forces to Shenvehr, who in turn disseminated it to agents of the Rebel Alliance in the form of coded messages embedded in the Colonial News Nets' advice column "Ask Argothil Anything." Around that time, Alliance General Airen Cracken noted Findris as the current location of Shenvehr in a datafile detailing various Rebel operatives.

Behind the scenes

Findris was created by Peter Schweighofer and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Findris system, and therefore Findris itself, in grid square M-9.
