The Human woman Gana Lavin's father, whom the younger Lavin referred to as "Daddy," was a powerful man who lived during the Jedi Civil War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. The man employed thugs who were often used by Gana to intimidate others while she resided on the planet Taris.
The father of the Human female Gana Lavin was an influential man who lived during the Jedi Civil War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Gana grew up in the luxury of the Upper City on the Outer Rim city world Taris and many considered her spoiled. Protective of Gana, the man she regularly referred to as "Daddy" employed thugs that she would often use to rough up those that angered her. Two of the thugs were Rodians who wielded vibroblades.
In 3956 BBY, the former Sith Lord Revan, who had lost his memories and believed himself to be a Republic soldier, encountered Lavin in Taris' Upper City Cantina. She had ordered drinks for herself and a young noble, but the drinks had not yet arrived. Frustrated and assuming Revan to be a waiter, she confronted him, insulting his clothing and threatening to use her father's influence to have him fired. Revan convinced her that he would bring out the drinks, and a moment later, an actual waiter arrived with them, ending the conflict.
Gana Lavin's father was first mentioned in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare. Dialogue involving the father are optional and have no impact on the plot, quests, or the player's alignment.
If the player, who takes the role of Revan, fails a persuasion check or selects other dialogue with Gana Lavin, she will run out of the cantina claiming that she will tell her father about the situation. When the player leaves the cantina, they will encounter Lavin and two Rodian thugs brandishing vibroblades. After the player defeats them, Lavin will run off and call for her father.
