The anti-Je'daii sentiment held by most citizens on Nox was strongest in the city of Greenwood Station. Three of the neighboring cities had been destroyed and left in ruins by Je'daii forces, including Lanoree Brock's father, during the Despot War. Although the cities had been warned of the impending bombardment, thousands died in the incident. Greenwood Station had also been targeted, but the damage to the breach in the city dome had been sealed quickly afterward. Unbeknownst to the citizens of Greenwood Station, the Je'daii Council had spared the city greater destruction due to their interest in a secret weapons manufacturing laboratory deep beneath the city, whose scientists they still commissioned years after the war ended.
Greenwood Station was the preeminent producer of advanced military tech outside of Tython itself. In the years preceding the Infinite Empire's invasion of the star system, Dalien Brock and the Stargazer cult planned to use the advanced skills of the weapon smiths in the city to construct a Gree device. Deep within the laboratories of , a subterranean weapons facility, Brock's cult employed a group of Selkath scientists in the creation of the dark matter device, after they completed the weapon. To ensure his involvement when unnoticed, the Stargazers sent a cultist to the city of Knool Tandor with a Je'daii sword to assassinate several corporate executives with the intent of framing the Je'daii and Greenwood Station. The attack on Knool Tandor provoked the desired response, with the residents of the domed city sending fighters and battle droids to attack Greenwood. Engaging the city from the south, the droids were able to compromise the city's protective dome in several places before into the city's factories and residential areas. The city was lost as a barrage of plasma bombs struck the pinnacle of the central tower supporting the superstructure of the dome. The resulting cascading explosions collapsed the tower and the dome began to crumble into unstoppable collapse. As the destruction of the city became inevitable, Je'daii Ranger Lanoree Brock and her associate, Tre Sana, escaped the city with critical intelligence on the Stargazer plot and a plan on how to stop them.
The city of Greenwood Station was contained in a massive dome more than eight kilometers across, which offered relative protection to its citizens from the noxious, polluted air of the outside environment. Defensive pulse cannons and plasma mortar dotted the surface of the dome, situated in indentations at intervals. Outside of the dome's eastern side was a sprawling spaceport and rail station that allowed for the transport of goods in and out of the city. The surface of the dome was smooth and rounded, supported by large, curving ribs that connected to a central tower at the apex of the dome. The central tower was home to the and the elite corporate conglomerates that ran the manufacturing businesses that comprised the city.
The central tower was thick at its base and narrowed only slightly as it rose to its apex. The tower had an exterior of dark metal and stone that was dotted with windows and launch bays for small airships. Balconies with large, overflowing gardens could also be seen from the ground level. The foundations of the tower, deep beneath the surface, was an area known as . Having fallen into legends by the time of the Despot War, Pan Deep was deep enough to survive the bombardment of the planet, and inside housed some of the most advanced military design equipment in the system. Because the Je'daii had contracts with the scientists and technicians of Pan Deep, the city was largely spared during the war. Access to the facility was restricted, with the primary entrance hidden within the city's central waste disposal system. At the heart of a vast labyrinth of halls and tunnels was the sterile white laboratories of Pan Deep. Enclosed within thick metal plating to protect against orbital bombardment, the facility was highly advanced compared to other workshops on Nox, and was the source of some of the most dangerous weapons in the system.
Fanning out from the tower's base were forty square kilometers of factories, habitation zones, parks-turned-refuse dumps, and manufacturing centers. Transport roads, railways, and canals divided the blocks into quadrants and allowed for workers to move about the domed space. Buildings were constantly under construction: either being demolished, expanded, or refurbished. Chimneys streaked with bright neon strips rose from factories up and out through the dome and spewed toxic waste out of the city. Floating air cleansers filled the air with the scent of ringwood petals, sucking up smoke from countless fire and pumping them out of the dome through flexible pipes.
During the Despot War a portion of the city dome's northern sector, known as the Scar, had sustained damage during the bombings. Sealed in a hurry, the damaged section was filled with rubble and twisted metal panels to keep out the outside air. Over a decade after the destruction, the debris and ruin in the area remained where it had fallen during the fierce battle. The habitation blocks were lined with open-air drug markets, pleasure dens, and cantinas. Listing posts scattered across the city displayed maps of the city's sectors that could be expanded and focused using a small screen.
Greenwood Station first appeared in Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void, a 2013 novel written by Tim Lebbon.
