Karvoss II

Karvoss II was a terrestrial planet in the Core Worlds' Parmorak sector. After the Great Sith War, a Human female from Karvoss II discovered her Force-sensitivity while practicing a form of martial arts. She eventually went on to create the Matukai sect of Force-users.

By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Rebel Alliance General Airen Cracken visited Karvoss II, where he met the undercover Rebel saboteur Aimi Loto. While there, Loto warned Cracken to be wary during his upcoming mission of protocol droids she had secretly sabotaged.

Description

Karvoss II was a planet located in the Karvoss system, a part of the Parmorak sector in the Southern Core portion of the Core Worlds. A terrestrial world, it occupied the second orbital position in its star system.

At some point after the Great Sith War of 3996 BBY, a Human female from Karvoss II was practicing a form of meditative martial arts. During her practice, the Human discovered her ability to access the energy field known as the Force. She eventually became a relatively powerful Force-user and founded the sect of Force-sensitives known as the Matukai.

Rebel Alliance General Airen Cracken visited Karvoss II with an R2-series astromech droid by the time the Battle of Yavin was fought nearly 4,000 years later. While there, Cracken's R2 unit malfunctioned. Subsequently, he met the young Human Aimi Loto, who was posing as an itinerant droid maintenance specialist in tandem with her mechanical companion, MdZ-BLK—however, in reality, the two were Rebel saboteurs.

Eventually, Loto learned from the malfunctioning astromech that Cracken was on a mission to facilitate the defection of the personal assistant of Imperial Moff Nile Owen during the wedding of Owen's daughter. Under the cover of MdZ-BLK's loud laughter, Loto then whispered a warning for Cracken to keep his distance from the protocol droids present at the wedding celebration, for she and her companion had sabotaged most of them.

Subsequently, Cracken described his experience on Karvoss II in a personal addendum to a datafile detailing Rebel operatives. In 40 ABY, Jedi historian Tionne Solusar noted the fact that the Matukai founder hailed from Karvoss II in the compendium Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force.

Behind the scenes

Karvoss II was created by Chuck Truett and introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Karvoss system, and therefore Karvoss II, in grid M-12.
