Keedad


During the early history of the Galactic Republic, which was established in 25,053 BBY, Humans settled Keedad. Ytavarg Aleema was a Keed of Keedad who was born around 26 BBY and was additionally descended from the Human colonists. At one point by the time shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Aleema participated in a pick-up game of lettranin—with the sport being played in an enclosed stone arena—the spectators of which included the vacationing Ger Plortor, a scout for the prominent, Core Worlds–based shockball team the Shad Furies. Plortor recruited the Keed athlete for the team, and Aleema accompanied the scout to the Core Worlds, eventually becoming the most renowned shockball player in the galaxy.

Keedad was created by Craig Robert Carey and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Keedad system, and therefore the planet, in grid square R-7.
