At some point, Lakphro's yubal ranch was chosen as the location for which a group of Agbui, led by Haplif, would temporarily settle to grow their spices. During the Agbui's stay at the ranch, Lakansu's daughter, Lakris, would frighten an Agbui girl, Frosif, with the sound of a brass sealer. Frosif was actually traumatized by the sounds of a flat-blast artillery shell, which the brass sealer sounded similar to. As an apology for the incident, Haplif, Frosif, and her mother, Shimkif, would gift Lakansu and Lakris a pair of metal brooches. These brooches were partially composed of nyix, the rarest metal known to the Chaos; they were used by the Agbui as tools to foment a civil war in the Chiss Ascendancy. When Lakphro showed Lakansu's brooch to the Xodlak senior aide Xodlak'ji'iprip (Lakjiip), it would be immediately confiscated due to its immensely high value.
