Lakjiip was present at a meeting between Haplif, an Agbui, and Xodlak Councilor Xodlak'uvi'vil (Lakuviv). Haplif, posing as a cultural nomad, asked for a small plot of land from which he would grow his spices. He gives Lakuviv a sample of the spices and a pair of metal brooches. Lakuviv would instruct Lakjiip to submit both articles to the Vlidan Labs for testing, and they would also find a piece of land to give to the Agbui. This land was owned by Xodlak yubal rancher, Xodlak'phr'ooa (Lakphro). Lakjiip would travel to the rancher's land, informing him of the arrangement.
A couple of weeks later, Lakjiip would learn that some of the strands in these brooches were composed of pure nyix metal, the rarest metal known to the Chaos. Lakuviv is made aware of this, and Lakjiip informs him that the Agbui intend to sell these brooches to the Chiss for a thousand times less than they are actually worth. Lakuviv instructs her to block any attempt to sell the brooches and to invite Haplif for a discussion. A week later, another Agbui ship would arrive at Celwis. Lakjiip would call Haplif, who told her that the ship was probably trying to get some of the Agbui's excess spices and delivering some extra metal for the Agbui's jewelry construction. Lakjiip asked for Haplif to come to Redhill to talk to both the newly arrived Agbui and Lakuviv, and Lakphro would volunteer to drive him there. Upon arriving at Redhill, Lakphro would privately reveal to Lakjiip that Haplif had given his wife, Lakansu, a brooch. Surprised that the rancher would have one, Lakjiip immediately confiscated it. She instructed Lakphro to not discuss the brooches with anyone, stating that the matter was of deepest security to the Xodlak. She also asked him if Haplif had given him any more brooches, but Lakphro would reply in the negative. This was, however, a lie, as Haplif had also given his daughter, Lakris, a brooch.
Haplif would then privately tell Lakuviv about the world from which they mine the metals used in the nyix jewelry. Lakuviv, wanting to claim the world for the Xodlak, asked Haplif if he could provide the Agbui with an escort ship for their next expedition to the mining world, and Haplif would accept. Lakuviv, wanting to learn everything he can about the world, would send Lakjiip to accompany this escort mission. Upon arriving at the world, Lakjiip would ask the Chiss' navigator, Qilori, who was gifted to them by Haplif, if she had heard the Agbui call the world Hoxim. Qilori would confirm this name, and Lakjiip would interrogate him on the world and his involvement with the Agbui. Eventually, Lakjiip would ask Qilori to accompany her while she toured the mining facilities. Upon arriving on the surface of Hoxim, Lakjiip tested the planet's soil and found it to be too acidic for any Chiss plants. When she tried to enter the mining facilities, an Agbui would stop her, claiming that there were too many safety risks for outsiders. He would allow her to look through the facilities' windows, however, and Lakjiip and Qilori would spend the rest of the day on the planet. The Chiss would depart back to the Ascendancy the following morning.
Upon arriving back at Celwis, Lakjiip would make Lakuviv aware of her findings at Hoxim. Lakuviv moved forward with his plans to claim Hoxim for the Xodlak family. He was successfully able to pose as Celwis Xodlak Patriel Xodlak'oo'nifis (Lakooni) and initiated a Xodlak family emergency. He was able to do this my taking Lakooni hostage. This emergency summons ordered all active-duty Xodlak Defense Force and Expansionary Defense Fleet personnel to report to Celwis.
When Senior Captain Xodlak'in'daro (Lakinda) arrived at Celwis, Lakjiip was shocked that someone of her rank would respond. She subsequently made Lakinda the commander of the Midsummer and the leader of the Xodlak operation to take the nyix mine at Hoxim. When Lakinda asked what the operation was about, Lakjiip, considering that the commander ought to know, told her about the Agbui and the unclaimed nyix mine. Lakjiip informed Lakinda of the Xodlak's intentions of giving up the mine to the Syndicure upon its capture, stating that the family only wanted the glory and prestige of uncovering and acquiring it. She also informed her that it would only be fair if the Xodlak family was reinstated to Ruling Family status.
However, everything presented by the Agbui was fabricated. In reality, the aliens were trying to subvert the Chiss and spark a civil war amongst them. At the same time the Xodlak were summoning for a family emergency to take Hoxim and its nyix mines, the Erighal and Pommrio families were gathering their family force for the same purpose. The nyix mine was not real, and the Agbui got the nyix from a world that they had decimated by another fomented civil war, Sunrise. However, Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo (Thrawn) and Mid Captain Csap'ro'strob (Apros) discovered the Agbui plot and successfully prevented conflict from arising between the three manipulated Chiss families. After the failed attempt to take Hoxim, Lakooni eventually escaped from her hostage situation and took some form of disciplinary action again Lakuviv and Lakjiip.
