Mary Elizabeth Burroughs is a Star Wars fan who designed the Scalt in the Design An Alien contest held in the Star Wars Galaxy Magazines. The entry was given an honorable mention in the under 16 years old category. She was 14 at the time her entry was published. She is now a writer of speculative fiction and has attended the Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers' Workshop at UC, San Diego in 2008.
