Charal's armor

Charal, a Sister who belonged to the Nightsisters – a group of Force-sensitive women from the planet Dathomir – was known to wear a specific type of armor. This protective gear, designed for bodily defense, included a recognizable metal breastplate. The breastplate featured segments and was fastened at the back with laces. Frequently, she would combine this armor with a black grafiform robe along with a feathered cape.

Her armor would vanish whenever Charal, who found herself marooned on the Forest Moon of Endor roughly a century prior to the Galactic Civil War, used the Talisman of the Raven artifact to shapeshift into a raven; it would then reappear upon her return to Human form. In 3.5 ABY, the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick used an arrow to destroy Charal's talisman, which resulted in the Nightsister being permanently transformed into a raven, and thus the ultimate disappearance of her armor set.

Behind the scenes

The television movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor from 1985 marked the initial appearance of Charal's armor. Joe Johnston, director and artist, developed the design. In contrast to its original portrayal as segmented armor, the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies by Sony Online Entertainment presented Charal's armor as a singular metal plate embellished with mysterious engravings.
