In 9 BBY, Third Sister traveled to Nur from Daiyu and, on orders from Darth Vader, launched three probes to help aid in the search of Obi-Wan Kenobi. After one located him on Mapuzo, Third Sister, Fifth Brother, and Fourth Sister joined Vader on the planet to capture him. Later that same year, Princess Leia Organa was kidnapped by Third Sister and taken to Nur. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Tala Durith infiltrated the moon to rescue the princess. The duo succeeded and escaped with the help of Wade and Sully.
Star Wars Inside Intel: The Inquisitorius stated that Nur orbited the planet Mustafar. However, this was later edited in 2023 to more vaguely state it was part of the Mustafar system. Later that year, Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide would once again place Nur as orbiting Mustafar. However, the episode "Devoted" of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire shows Nur orbiting the planet Jestefad, with Mustafar visible in the background. This is supported by a hologram in "Part IV" of Obi-Wan Kenobi showing Nur's orbit around a planet that is not Mustafar.
