Oh!! Jawajawa

"Oh!! Jawajawa" is a story within the Infinities manga series. Penned by the Japanese comic book artist Hitoshi Ariga, it's featured in Star Wars Manga: Silver. The narrative centers on a Jawa clan that discovers and salvages a wrecked X-wing starfighter. A notable aspect is its complete lack of dialogue, drawing a parallel to the wordless comic panels found in Peter M. Schweighofer's Star Wars Adventure Journal short stories focusing on the Black Curs.

Narrative Breakdown

A Jawa sandcrawler is depicted traversing the desert landscape, en route to a moisture farm with the intention of selling droids to a family residing there. One Jawa is shown struggling with the repair of an R5 unit, ultimately becoming exasperated and causing the droid to fall over. This incident prompts laughter from other members of the clan, leading to the Jawa's outburst, where he attacks his comrades and destroys all the droids within the garage. Upon their arrival at the moisture farm, the Jawa leader is made aware of the destruction and reprimands the responsible Jawa. Due to the absence of droids, the sandcrawler bypasses the moisture farmer and his family without stopping. Subsequently, a scouting party of Jawas ventures into the desert and stumbles upon a crashed X-wing starfighter. The downed Rebel pilot then surrenders to a sandtroopers squad, only to be executed before the squad departs. The Jawas then decide to take possession of the X-wing, with the Jawa leader declaring their intention to repair and sell it for profit. The Jawa responsible for the destruction of the droids is then tasked with repairing the craft single-handedly, utilizing his R5 unit to eventually restore the starfighter to working order.

However, when the Jawa shares the positive development with the leader, he is dismissed. The leader has noticed a TIE Advanced x1 being scavenged by a trio of individuals, making the X-wing appear less valuable in comparison. In response to this frustration, the Jawa repairer installs the R5 unit into the repaired X-wing and departs to steal the TIE Advanced. Employing magnetic clamps, the Jawa detaches the TIE Advanced from its repulsor platform, much to the astonishment of the scavengers. The Jawa then heads back towards the sandcrawler, but the TIE Advanced's weight causes the Jawa to unintentionally swerve towards the sandcrawler. As the Jawas panic and flee for safety, the Jawa pilot crashes into the side of the sandcrawler, resulting in the complete destruction of his X-wing starfighter. Nevertheless, the TIE Advanced remains undamaged, leading to a celebration among the Jawa clan for their newfound hero.
