Rakata Prime, also known as Rakata and Lehon, was the homeworld of the long-extinct Rakata species, who were rumored to be the first to develop hyperspace travel, and was one of the few navigable worlds located in the Unknown Regions. The planet was orbited by a refueling station. At some point, the Resistance pilot Venisa Doza visited Lehon along with her astromech droid, Torch. The Zabrak pirate Tryki was also once arrested for attempting to board a First Order cruiser near Rakata Prime.
Lehon, also known as Rakata Prime, or simply Rakata, was a terrestrial planet located in the grid area G-11 of the Unknown Regions. Even though the cosmic bramble of hyperspace anomalies known as the Galactic Barrier prevented the exploration of the region, Rakata Prime was one of the few navigable worlds that were found by rare exploratory missions, and the planet could be reached by cautiously stepped hyperspace jumps.

At some point no earlier than 9 ABY, the Force-sensitive Hunter Rieve acquired an audiochip labeled The Blue Factory, which contained gonkrock music performed by Corellia's Not Dead, a band she once fronted. When she listened to her vocal performance in the recording, Rieve compared her screams and barks to some sort of beast from Rakata.
By 33 ABY, the Zabrak pirate Tryki was arrested for attempting to board a First Order cruiser near Rakata Prime, and her starship was destroyed as a result. The Resistance pilot Venisa Doza and her astromech droid, Torch, also once traveled to the planet. Later, in 34 ABY, when the duo was about to be captured by the First Order, Doza brought up their time on Lehon while planning how to escape their present predicament.
On one occasion no earlier than that year, the adventurous chef Strono "Cookie" Tuggs traveled to a refueling station above Rakata Prime, where he enjoyed a cup of a strong caf known as Hyperspace Brew, aboard his modified Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport. Tuggs later mentioned the planet as well as his experience at the station above it in his recipe for the local drink published in The Ultimate Cookbook in 35 ABY.
The world shared its names with the historical Rakatan Infinite Empire, the mystical antiquities known as Rakatan wraith boxes, and the Legend of Lehon. According to the legend, the desert planet Tatooine was once covered by lush jungle and inhabited by the Kumumgah.
Lehon was the home planet of an amphibious humanoid species known as the Rakata, or Rakatans, who were the first in developing hyperspace travel, according to a legend. The species was said to be corrupted by the dark side of the Force a long time ago, and eventually went extinct. The planet was also inhabited by beasts.

Rakata Prime was first mentioned as Lehon—an alternate name for Rakata Prime in the Star Wars Legends continuity—in the current Star Wars canon in the forty-seventh issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon series of magazine, published by De Agostini around November 25, 2015. The name Rakata Prime was later introduced to canon on a map of the galaxy created for Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by the Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo for the film and released on December 18, 2015. The aforementioned map was initially revealed prior to the book's release through an article by Empire magazine on November 26, 2015. The 2023 novel Hunters: Battle for the Arena also identified the planet simply as Rakata.
Rakata Prime originally first appeared in the 2003 Legends video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic as the "Unknown World." The 2005 reference book The New Essential Chronology, written by Daniel Wallace, introduced the name Rakata Prime, while the 2006 novel Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, written by Drew Karpyshyn, introduced the name Lehon. Later in 2006, the reference book The New Essential Guide to Alien Species first identified the planet simply as Rakata.
