Rolex functioned as the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Bank of Aargau's Security division at the Planetary Customs Security Checkpoint LH48 during the Galactic Civil War period. As a meticulous and always on-time Human male, Rolex was responsible for carrying out security screenings of all visitors to Aargau. He also maintained a detailed daily record, documenting data from customs inspections, as well as a log of hourly incidents, including the penalties given to those who violated Aargau's customs regulations.
During 3 ABY, Rolex conducted the customs inspections for Rebel figurehead Leia Organa and Sith Lord Darth Vader when they both visited Aargau on official business. Subsequently, Rolex transitioned to the role of Customs Field Investigator, where he investigated a string of unusual events linked to the separate visits of Organa and Vader. Rolex explored a potential link between the arrival of the two opposing leaders and the activities of smuggler Li-Suun Niik, but this line of inquiry led nowhere. Ultimately, he suggested that both Organa and Vader should be apprehended immediately should they ever return to Aargau.
Rolex's debut appearance was in Star Wars (1977) 48, which was penned by Larry Hama and published in 1981. Carmine Infantino provided the illustration of Rolex in the comic. Later, in 2003, the Wizards of the Coast published an article titled Aargau: For All Your Banking Needs. This piece contained multiple excerpts written from Rolex's perspective, offering further insights into his position.
