Strayit

Strayit held the rank of captain within the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy, commanding the starship Marshall Awe. While serving as captain, a lieutenant named Zertik Strom was stationed on the ship, and during an uprising by the Poporov merchants located on Armstiss, Strom bravely saved the captain's life. Strom intercepted a blaster shot that was headed for Strayit, and then, disregarding his own pain, seized the leader of the rebellious merchants, shoved a thermal detonator into his trousers, and subsequently hurled him from a cliff into the midst of his followers. The resultant blast eliminated the vast majority of the insurgents along with much of their market stalls, leaving the survivors too terrified to mount another revolt. As a reward for his courageous actions, Strom received a promotion to First officer aboard the starship Peacehawk.

Behind the scenes

The character of Strayit initially appeared in the second installment of "Viva Space Vegas! The History of the Marvelous Wheel," an article published in 2013 on the Star Wars Blog found on StarWars.com, authored collaboratively by Abel G. Peña and Rich Handley. This article refrains from specifying Strayit's species or gender, and it also remains ambiguous as to whether the events involving him transpire during the Rebellion era or the Rise of the Empire era.
