The TranLang III communications package, which is also referred to as the TranLang III communications module, functioned as a communication component within droids. The TranLang III module was a standard installation on protocol droid models, for instance, the 3PO-series protocol droid.
A protocol droid equipped with the TranLang module was capable of communicating in approximately six to seven million languages. During the era of the First Order-Resistance War, C-3PO enhanced his TranLang III communications package, expanding his linguistic capabilities to encompass over seven million languages. On one occasion, C-3PO attempted to communicate with Murra, a tauntaun, by emitting a harsh, screeching sound, but his efforts proved fruitless.
