During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, Rebel forces were operating on Vendrak V. Intending to lure the Rebels into a trap, Imperial Intelligence planted false information that lead the Alliance to believe a hangar in the local starport contained a batch of potentially useful weaponry.
Acting on the information, the Rebel "Victor" squad and "Bravo" Squad snuck into the hangar, where the Imperial trap was then sprung. Surprising the Rebels, two squads of Imperial stormtroopers entered the hangar and in the following battle attempted to prevent them from escaping.
Vendrak V was introduced in "Like Rats in a Trap," a scenario for use with Star Wars Miniatures Battles included in the rulebook of the game. The 1991 book was authored by Stephen Crane and Paul Murphy. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Vendrak system, and therefore Vendrak V, in grid square M-18.
