War of the Bounty Hunters

The War of the Bounty Hunters was a major conflict across the galaxy's underworld kicked off when crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, believing bounty hunter Boba Fett had betrayed him by selling the carbon-frozen Han Solo to another faction, placed a hit out on the infamous bounty hunter. In reality, the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate, under Solo's former lover Qi'ra, had stolen the smuggler from Fett on the crime moon Nar Shaddaa. Because Solo had become important to numerous galactic factions, they hoped to use him to lure the major powers together as a reveal of the return of Crimson Dawn. On Nar Shaddaa, Fett was attacked by bounty hunters 4-LOM and Zuckuss, but he dispatched both and used 4-LOM's head to learn about the bounty. Qi'ra invited various powers to the Jekara system aboard the Vermillion for an auction for Han Solo. The Galactic Empire, Alliance to Restore the Republic, and numerous criminal syndicates gathered.

Fett also followed and defeated fellow hunter Bossk'wassak'Cradossk outside the Vermillion. At the auction, Jabba won with a bid of one million credits before the Sith Lord Darth Vader entered and demanded Solo for himself to draw out his son, Commander Luke Skywalker of the Rebel Alliance. When Qi'ra refused, she had a brief duel with Vader before he ordered Solo take back to his flagship, the Executor. Jabba accepted the loss and returned to his palace on Tatooine. However, secretly following the orders of Qi'ra, the Hutt leader Bokku rallied the remaining members of the Grand Hutt Council to attack the Executor to reclaim their prize. In the chaos, rebel agents under Solo's love Leia Organa attempted to reclaim Solo, as did Fett. Helped by fellow bounty hunter Beilert Valance, Fett was successful and delivered Solo to Jabba on Tatooine. Meanwhile, Vader boarded the and slaughtered the council to end the attack.

Left for dead by Fett, Valance fought his way through the Imperial flagship and was nearly rescued by T'onga's crew, who had also rescued Zuckuss and Bossk. However, Vader pulled Valance back into the Executor and forced him to return to Imperial service. In the end, the war had returned Crimson Dawn to the galactic spotlight, allowing Qi'ra to launch her war against the Sith. Although Jabba, suddenly the only leader of the Hutt Clan, was certain relations would return to normal, Bokku's Attack on the Executor had strained relations between the Hutts and Imperials, which allowed Qi'ra to begin the Syndicate War to distract the Empire. Later, a rebuilt 4-LOM and Zuckuss would reunite aboard a Hutt freighter, and 4-LOM joined T'onga's crew.
