Xagobah

Xagobah was an astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories that was the homeworld of the Xamster Neva Kee. During the Galactic Civil War it produced war resources for the Galactic Empire. The Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry fought the Empire there as part of the campaign Operation Ringbreaker in 3 ABY. In 5 ABY, New Republic forces led by General Ria undertook a campaign against an Imperial-Royalist coalition at the astronomical body.

Description

Xagobah was an astronomical object located in an intersecting portion of the Outer Rim Territories and Western Reaches regions. A hyperspace route linked it to the planet Pamarthe and the astronomical object Triton, the latter being along the Rimma Trade Route. Situated in grid square M-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it was the homeworld of the Xamster podracer Neva Kee and included unpleasant-smelling canyons.

During the Galactic Civil War, Xagobah produced resources for the Galactic Empire's war effort. In 3 ABY, the astronomical body was targeted by the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry three weeks into Operation Ringbreaker, a campaign devised by the former Imperial Governor Everi Chalis that targeted the Empire's Kuat Drive Yards. The attack aimed to force Imperial Military redeployments from Kuat Drive Yards to weaken their security for a final attack. A resulting battle was fought between the Empire and the 61st in Xagobah's canyons, with the latter faction achieving its objective before moving on. The Rebel Alliance Intelligence Service examined the 61st's campaign, and General Crix Madine listed Xagobah among the targets in a report on Operation Ringbreaker's first phase. The report was later gathered by archivist Hendri Underholt and included in an archive of non-electronic documents called The Rebel Files.

After the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the Empire's forces splintered, and the Alliance transitioned into the New Republic. In 5 ABY, Imperial forces still controlled Xagobah in coalition with local royalists. New Republic general Ria led a campaign to drive the coalition off Xagobah. The general spoke about her efforts at the celestial body during a meeting with other leading members of the New Republic military regarding the progress of the Galactic Civil War as a whole. As the operation progressed, the Xagobah campaign saw what Ria considered to be a dark turn in events. The general soon attended another meeting with the New Republic's military leadership, where she summarized the dark turn but expressed confidence in the campaign's imminent end.
