A Droid Story
A Droid Story, an upcoming animated movie, is set to debut on the streaming service Disney+. Its announcement occurred on December 10, 2020, and the plot will involve a fresh character receiving guidance from the iconic pair of droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO. Industrial Light & Magic, together with Lucasfilm Animation, will be responsible for the film's production. Nevertheless, the last official communication about the project was on February 9, 2021.

The ongoing development of new narratives at Lucasfilm has revealed the potential of animation and visual effects to create new avenues for exploration. In a collaborative effort, Lucasfilm Animation and Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm's visual effects division, are crafting a unique Star Wars adventure, titled A Droid Story, specifically for Disney+. This grand adventure will present a brand-new protagonist, mentored by the celebrated pair, R2-D2 and C-3PO.
