A Human individual named Aalto, a male and Force-sensitive being, existed near the end of the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Order welcomed them into their ranks for training at the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, the capital planet of the Republic. While there, Aalto formed a friendship with Bruck Chun, who was also a Jedi Initiate. In 44 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi, another Initiate, faced rejection as a Jedi Padawan and was assigned to the Agricultural Corps; Aalto, along with Chun, frequently mocked Kenobi regarding this setback.
The character Aalto made an appearance in Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force, a novel for young readers released in 1999. This book, penned by Dave Wolverton, served as the initial entry in the Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice series.
