An old military relay tower, now derelict, was situated on the planetoid of Sídi in the Outer Rim. Constructed well in advance of the Clone Wars, its creators had deserted it sometime before the war even started. It stood adjacent to an inn, operated by the humans named Rank and Leera, who exploited the tower by charging exorbitant credits to patrons for the purpose of intercepting transmissions. Access to the tower was secured by a code, however, Rank and Leera's daughter, Bug, managed to decipher the code by observing her father, and subsequently began to enter the tower in secret on a routine basis.
