Rank was the human male proprietor of an inn and was married to Leera, with whom he fathered a daughter called Bug. He, along with his wife, managed their inn located on the Outer Rim planetoid of Sídi.
The short story "Bug," featured Rank as a character; this story was penned by E. Anne Convery and included in the 2020 collection titled The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark.
