E. Anne Convery (shortened to Anne Convery), an American writer and spouse of Dave Filoni, is the author of the short story "Bug." This story serves as the concluding piece in the 2020 collection titled The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark. Moreover, she lends her name to the convor species within the Star Wars universe.

Born on September 18, 1974, in San Fernando Valley, California, Elizabeth Anne Convery's early exposure to Star Wars came through owning the home video release of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Her fascination deepened during her teenage years when she and her mother watched a theatrical rerelease. These experiences significantly immersed her in the Star Wars galaxy.
Years later, Convery married Dave Filoni, who currently holds the position of Executive Vice President / Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm. During Filoni's work on Star Wars: The Clone Wars season three episodes "Padawan Lost" and "Wookiee Hunt," he chose to name the yellow-feathered birds featured in these episodes, convors, after his wife's last name. This designation was officially recognized in the StarWars.com episode guide for "Padawan Lost." Later, while developing the season four episode "A Friend in Need," Filoni incorporated a character named Bo-Katan Kryze into the script. The name "Bo-Katan" was inspired by Convery's cat; Filoni created it from "boogie-cat-Anne," which is what Convery calls her cat, "boogie."

On April 16, 2020, StarWars.com revealed Convery's contribution to The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark, a collection of eleven short stories set during the Clone Wars period. Convery penned "Bug," the final and only original story in the anthology, with the others being reinterpretations of well-known Star Wars: The Clone Wars narratives. The story centers on Bug, a young Sídi girl, and Falta, a Dathomirian witch without a clan, in the aftermath of the Battle of Dathomir, which saw the Nightsisters nearly exterminated by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Convery has drawn parallels between her short story and "Cinderella," a folk tale originating in Europe. Similar to Cinderella, Bug resides with her unkind parental figures, Rank and Leera, and forms bonds with creatures as a way to cope. Convery expressed that Bug's ability to make the most of a difficult situation was a source of inspiration for her. The book was made available on August 25, 2020.
